Hello and welcome to my blog. I am currently assistant professor of music education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Lowell, Massachusetts. Prior to teaching at UMass Lowell, I served on the faculty at Indiana State University. Prior to my collegiate teaching, I taught at Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School teaching technology-infused general music classes. You can still check out some of my former students’ compositions at http://www.cranbrookcomposers.com/ and listen to new ones by the current students. During my graduate studies, I also taught courses in music education, music technology, and music theory at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
My areas of interest are in technology-infused music courses, music composition in the schools, computer-supported collaborative music learning, and non-traditional music classes in the schools. I am an active member of the International Society for Music Education, currently serve on the editorial/advisory boards for the British Journal of Music Education, Journal of Music, Technology and Education, and the International Journal of Music Education: Practice, and serve as managing editor for the online open-access International Journal of Education and the Arts.
Be sure to check the blog regularly for new things I run across, and to also share your own feedback and suggestions.
